Company
Sherman Clay and its affiliates own 19 operating
properties in 8 states, primarily in the Southwest. The
portfolio includes 12 neighborhood and community shopping
centers, 6 commercial buildings and an office retail building
located in downtown Seattle.
The properties aggregate 1,200,000 square feet of building
area situated on 4,000,000 square feet of land. In addition,
there are several parcels of unimproved land.
Sherman Clay began investing in commercial real estate
in 1977. Operations have been carried out through SC
Management as well as through affiliated companies and
partnerships. The portfolio has grown primarily through
the acquisition of shopping centers located in well-established
trade areas.
The portfolio is diversified and includes 300 leases
with different tenants. Anchor tenants include supermarket
chains such as Albertson's, Ranch Market, Save Mart
and Homeland. Drug store chains such as Rite Aid, Med-X,
Drug Warehouse, and CVS.
Major specialty tenants include Office Max, Tuesday
Morning, Wherehouse Music, Magnolia Hi Fi, Bookstop,
and Cort Furniture.
Sherman Clay's renovation program is ongoing. This
activity involves new fascia, coordinating tenant signage,
repaving parking lots and additional landscaping.
Sherman Clay is continually seeking additional opportunities
to acquire or develop shopping centers and other commercial
properties.
