The Sherman Clay Group began
investing in commercial real estate in 1977. Operations have
been carried out through SClay Management, Inc. The portfolio
has grown primarily through the acquisition of shopping centers
located in well established trade areas.
The Sherman Clay Group and its affiliates own 17 operating
properties in 6 states, primarily in the Southwest. The
portfolio includes 14 neighborhood and community shopping
centers, two commercial buildings and an office retail building
in downtown Seattle.
The properties aggregate over 1,200,000 square feet of building
situated on over 4,000,000 square feet of land. In addition,
there are several parcels of unimproved land.
The diversified portfolio includes more than 300 leases with
different tenants. Major supermarket and drug chains include
Albertson’s, Save Mart, Ranch Market, Homeland and Rite Aid.
Major specialty tenants include Office Max, Tuesday Morning, Ace
Hardware, Wachovia Bank, AT&T Mobility, Magnolia Music Video,
and Mancini’s Sleep World.
The Sherman Clay Group’s renovation program is ongoing. This
activity involves new fascia, landscaping, paving lighting and
tenant sign program as well as adding new retail space.
The Sherman Clay Group is continually seeking additional
opportunities to acquire or develop shopping centers and other
commercial properties.
