The Sherman Clay Group began investing in commercial real estate in 1977. Operations have been carried out through SClay Management, Inc. The portfolio has grown primarily through the acquisition of shopping centers located in well-established trade areas.
The Sherman Clay Group and its affiliates own 9 neighborhood and community shopping centers in 4 states, primarily in the Southwest.
The properties aggregate almost 800,000 square feet of building situated on over 3,000,000 square feet of land. In addition, there are several parcels of unimproved land.
The diversified portfolio includes more than 175 leases with different tenants. Major supermarket and drug chains include Walmart Neighborhood Market, Los Altos, and Ranch Market. Major specialty tenants include Harbor Freight Tools, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, AT&T Mobility, Five Below, Weddings by Debbie, Auto Nation, Extreme Offroad, and Mancini’s Sleep World.
The Sherman Clay Group’s renovation program is ongoing. This activity involves new fascia, landscaping, paving lighting, and tenant sign programs, as well as adding new retail space.
